Classic Digital Radiology

In the Radiodiagnostic Department of the Hospital, two fixed x-ray machines and one new portable digital x-ray machine system (electrically driven) operate, all with digital detectors of flat panel technology.

All simple x-rays of the anatomical systems (Chest, Abdomen, Skull, Extremities, Spinal Column) are performed.

With Flat Panel technology, Full Body X-rays of the Spine are performed for the study of Scoliosis and Axiometric X-rays of the Limbs for the study of Leg Length Discrepancy.

All the machines are connected to the HIS and RIS electronic file systems of the Hospitals and all radiological examinations are carried out with an electronic Worklist, thus limiting to a minimum the possibility of error in the recording of the details of the examinee.

All digital radiological images are stored electronically in the PACS system and are available to doctors at any time for reading and benchmarking. Reports of radiological diagnoses are also entered electronically in the patient's file.

Outpatients receive a CD/DVD-type digital disc on which the digital images of their examinations have been recorded. The digital images of radiological examinations are stored unchanged in the electronic archive of the Department.
