Purpose of the Unit

The primary goal of the unit is to provide comprehensive and specialized care to patients who have suffered a stroke. Equipped to manage the acute phase of stroke, the unit ensures rapid and effective treatment, aiming to reduce long-term damage and improve recovery outcomes. We implement modern techniques such as intravenous thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy.

The medical team of the unit is supported by specialties including neurosurgery, vascular surgery, intensive care, and cardiology. In addition, patients have immediate access to physiotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy, promoting early rehabilitation.

Once infrastructure works are completed, the unit will include 4 beds equipped with vital signs monitoring systems and will operate under enhanced clinical supervision.

Comprehensive Care and Support

Our goal is not only to treat stroke during the acute phase but also to provide continuous care that supports our patients at every step of their recovery journey. We are committed to improving quality of life and offering the necessary support that patients and their families need during these challenging times.

Timely and comprehensive management of stroke, based on the latest global medical practices, is of critical importance. For every minute that passes without treatment during a stroke, approximately 2 million brain cells die. That is why time is crucial.

“Time is Brain.”

Stroke Prevention and Immediate Response

Stroke can often be prevented if recognized in time, and the patient’s rapid transport to the hospital is of critical importance. Early recognition of symptoms and calling for help immediately are the two key factors that save lives, as every minute matters.

If you suspect a stroke, call the ambulance service of Apollonio Private Hospital immediately at 96-292499, or go directly to the hospital’s Accident & Emergency Department.

How Can We Easily Recognize a Stroke?

Just THINK FAST using the acronym:

  • F - Face: Ask the person to smile. Does one side of the face droop?
  • A - Arms: Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?
  • S - Speech: Ask the person to repeat a simple sentence. Is their speech slurred or strange?
  • T - Time: If you observe any of these signs, call an ambulance immediately.

Time is brain - every second counts.
