Dr. Shiakos George is a cardiac surgeon and intensivist and comes from Nicosia. After his military service he studied medicine at the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. He began his career as a surgical resident in Stuttgart in 2012 and he is now a cardiac surgeon and intensivist, trained in Germany, with 10 years experience in this field. Currently, the doctor is in charge of the cardiosurgical medical team in the ICU.

In addition to the entire spectrum of cardiac surgery, Dr. Shiakos shows special interest in preoperative and postoperative echocardiographic examination with the performance of over 2800 transthoracic echocardiographic examinations, as well as knowledge of transesophageal echocardiography in cardiosurgical patients. The doctor has an extended experience in cardiosurgical intensive care medicine, as well as treatment of patients with temporary assist devices (ECLS, ECMO, IABP).

Dr. Ioannou was born in Cyprus and he completed his studies in Germany, where he graduated from the medical school Universitätsmedizin Göttingen. He then specialized in Cardiac Surgery at the Heart Center Brandenburg.
