The specialized doctors and nurses of the ICU in cooperation with other specialists offer high-quality medical and nursing care.
The ICU is versatile and can cover a wide range of patient cases, including surgical (cardiovascular, cardiothoracic, neurological, orthopedic, gynecology/obstetrics, invasive cardiology, general surgery, etc.) and internal medicine patients (cardiological, pneumological, nephrological, etc.).
Postoperative follow-up of patients is done at both the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and the HDU (High Dependency Unit) depending on case severity, always with 24-hour observation, 24-hour monitoring, and 24-hour medical coverage.
The ICU is staffed with Doctors specially trained in the treatment and hospitalization of the seriously ill patient. In the ICU, all new, internationally applicable treatment protocols for severely ill patients are implemented, as those are developed and published at World Congresses and in the International Bibliography.
The ICU is equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment such as hemofiltration and plasmapheresis devices, blood gas analyzers, respirators, intra-aortic balloon pumps, pacemakers, defibrillators, telemetry, bronchoscopes, etc.
The Department is supported on a 24-hour basis by the Microbiology, Biochemistry and Hematology Laboratory, the Radiological Department, and the Department of Magnetic Resonance and Computed Tomography, the Department of Cardiac Catheterization, and by many specialized physicians.
